Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
Wow! I don't think two and half hours have ever gone by so quickly. The first half hour was a complete blur.
The Good
The New Characters: Brenden Gleeson, Ralph Finnes, Miranda Richardson impressed me to no end.
It was funny...really funny. I wasn't expecting that considering how violently it ends, but I laughed out loud several times.
The eye candy that is Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory. Is it me, or does he strongly resemble a young Matt Dillon?
The action scenes. The first and second tasks were fantastic, even better than they were written in the book. The special effects have come a long way since the first movie.
The Bad
Herminone: Love the girl, but she spent the entire movie worried, crying, or pissed. Now, my acting experience is limited to my appearance as the Evil Stepmother in my second grade production of Snow White, but I blame the director more than the actress.
Professor Dumbledore: I don't like the way he's written or portrayed. There's a lightness missing.
The Old Characters: I know, I know, things had to be cut, but I did miss Snape, McGonagall, Malfoy, and Sirius.
With the exception of the return of Voldemort, this latest installment really didn't do anything to advance the characters or the plot.
